A public-private partnership between The Cleveland Metropolitan School District, other K-12 school districts, colleges and universities, corporations & industry partners, and a host of Cleveland’s premiere cultural, public, and philanthropic institutions formed to create innovative teaching and learning opportunities for all students across the region, and impact the workforce’s retooled and emerging industries.

The MC2STEM Hub is the nucleus of a unique partnership among a diverse group of organizations with the singular vision of using STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) to educate the workforce of tomorrow in our K-12 pipeline, today. In combining the expertise of education professionals, world-class business and industrial leaders, and the dedication and generous support from the philanthropic community, MC2STEM Hub will redefine the "school" experience. The Cleveland Hub is one of the 5 statewide regional hubs that form the Ohio STEM Learning Network. A program managed by Battelle, co-found by The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation , and established to leverage teaching and learning for the benefit of all students in the state of Ohio.

This work was started in 2007 with the planning of two new regional STEM High Schools; MC2 STEM High School and Design Lab Early College High School. These schools opened in August 2008 with a founding class students and staff dedicated to exploring and sharing new possibilities in education.

Today, the Cleveland Hub is focusing on:
  • Partner relations and management
  • Supporting the current portfolio of STEM schools and programs
  • Facilitating the developement of model programs
  • Supporting professional and leadership development
  • Driving scale and replication in the region
