In conjunction with National Lab Day, an initiative to create STEM collaborative communities across the nation that are accessible to teachers and students, Battelle (managing partner of OSLN) is assembling a Battelle-wide STEM Learning Team, a group of volunteer STEM professionals, from across its affiliated laboratories and partnering organizations like NSBE to support NLD.

We are inviting teachers to join in this effort by going to http://my.nationallabday.org/OSLN and clicking on the link for Teachers. You will be taken to a page called “I’M A TEACHER.” Where you can register to have access to the NLD Network and the Battelle-wide STEM Learning Team. After signing up, you can also post a project on the website to access scientists, volunteers or even financial support (through Donorschoose.org) available in their community.

As the Cleveland regional hub to OSLN, we view NLD as a highly visible, high value opportunity to connect to a national STEM initiative endorsed by the President and supported by the private sector. We encourage you to take full advantage of these resources and to join a national network of teachers dedicated to STEM education. As a tool for our teachers, students and partners we will be using this page to highlight specific items that individual schools/classrooms/students need for a STEM project. Each posted item will include a description as well as an email link to allow direct communication between educators and partners interested in getting more involved.

Additionally, we will provide partners with a place to list items they have that may be of use to a classroom or school. To offer a service or contribution to one of our STEM programs contact the Hub via email or by calling us at 216-368-7568.
